June 8th – Alpaca 101, presented by Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, LLC and the Alpaca Center of New England. Learn the basics about alpacas, from history to husbandry. 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Snacks will be provided. Feel free to drop by earlier for a tour before the class begins. Fee is $30 per household. June 22nd – Fiber Sorting and Grading - Learn to identify the characteristics about your alpaca fiber that affect the grading and end use of the fiber. This is a hands-on class in sorting and grading alpaca fiber for processing. Feel free to bring your own fleeces or you can use ones provided by Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm. 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, light lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided. Fee is $30 per person. July 21st - Maine Open Farm Day – Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, LLC will be open from 10am to 4pm with activities and information about alpacas.

July 31st through August 4th - Rockland Lobster Festival - Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, LLC and Fibers of Unity will be relocated to the waterfront in Rockland again this year. We are looking forward to visiting with old friends and meeting new. We hope you will stop by our booth to say hi see what awesome alpaca products we have to offer this year.


August 2013

July 31st through August 4th - Rockland Lobster Festival - Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, LLC and Fibers of Unity will be relocated to the waterfront in Rockland again this year. We are looking forward to visiting with old friends and meeting new. We hope you will stop by our booth to say hi see what awesome alpaca products we have to offer this year.

August 10th – Parasite Identification and Management, presented by Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm and the Alpaca Center of New England. 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Snacks will be provided. This is a hands-on workshop on performing your own alpaca/livestock fecal examinations. Microscopes, centrifuge and supplies will be available for your use during the class. Feel free to bring your own equipment and a sample to test. Fee is $75 per household or farm. August 23rd through 25th - American Folk Festival. This is our third year attending this event. We can't wait. Come visit our store on the Bangor Waterfront, listen to some amazing music, eat amazing food, and talk Alpaca with us. Hope to see you there!
